When your brain seems a bit sluggish, or you just need to focus, here are five tips that can improve your mental efficiency!
1. Don’t Multitask
While you think you’re being more productive, you’re actually making it harder for your brain to focus, which can mean more mistakes in your work.
2. Laugh!
Research shows that when you’re in a good mood, you’re more likely to work productively. So take some time to watch that funny YouTube video!
3. Plan ahead, and write it down
Having your tasks written down makes you more likely to follow through with them. While you can change the deadlines on things as you need to, having a list makes it easier to keep track of all of your goals.
4. Work in public
Studies show that people perform better on tests with a bit of background noise. Plus, you’re less likely to multitask if you think someone could be watching you.
5. Close your eyes
Closing your eyes while you’re trying to commit something to memory improves your focus, studies show.
